The fire button is the one button you press in every fight. Its size and position decide whether your drag headshot starts cleanly — or your thumb slips off halfway. Here is how to choose it.
Why size matters for drag headshots
A drag headshot starts on the fire button and swipes upward. If the button is too small, your thumb starts at the edge and the drag is short or slips off. If it is too big, it covers the screen and overlaps other buttons.
You want a button that is larger than your thumb’s contact area with room above it to start the upward swipe.
Recommended sizes (Custom HUD %)
| Setup | Typical size |
|---|---|
| 2 fingers (thumbs only) | 58–68% |
| 3 fingers | 52–62% |
| 4 fingers / claw | 45–55% |
On bigger screens the same percentage is physically larger, so tablet players can use smaller values. Players with large hands should add about 5%. Get an exact number for your phone with the Fire Button Size calculator.
Where to place it
- 2 fingers: bottom-right, exactly where your right thumb rests. Leave free space above it for dragging.
- 3 fingers: right thumb on the main fire button; left index finger on a left fire button or scope at the top-left. Move jump to the top-right.
- 4 fingers (claw): index fingers handle the top-left fire button and top-right scope/jump. Thumbs control movement and camera.
How to change it
- Settings → Controls → Custom HUD.
- Tap the fire button and use the size slider.
- Drag it to the right position.
- Save and test in Training Ground with 20 drag headshots.
Pair it with the right sensitivity
Button size and Red Dot sensitivity work together. A bigger button gives you a longer, more controlled drag, which may let you lower Red Dot slightly. Try the Sensitivity Generator to match both to your phone.
